Who are we?
The Construction Employers Federation (CEF) is the "Voice of the Industry". The CEF represents the industry and provides services for all employers large and small. We promote best practice and procedures in construction procurement. The CEF offers a multi-discipline advice service to its members on all aspects of the construction industry.
Why do we exist?
The construction industry is one of the largest industrial sectors in Northern Ireland and makes a significant contribution to the local economy. It is therefore essential to have an effective organisation to represent the industry.
The CEF fulfils this role. With over 1300 members large and small, we speak as the authorative voice for construction employers. We provide strong and effective lobbying to government and client bodies.

Code of Conduct for the Construction Industry
2 October 2009: Following the OFT investigation into cover pricing in Great Britain, it was announced this week that the OFT handed down fines totalling £129.5m to 103 firms including some of the biggest names in the UK construction industry.
While the investigation focused exclusively on building contracts in England, the National Federation of Builders and the UK Contractors Group have drawn up a Code of Conduct to help avoid any repetition of the practices that the OFT had investigated..
The Federation Council decided at its meeting on 28 September 2009 to adopt this Code of Conduct for all its contracting members as a matter of good practice.
