Introduction

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016 came into operation on 1 August 2016.

The new Regulations replaced CDM 2007 and are almost identical to CDM 2015 which came into operation in GB on the 6th April 2015.

There are a number of significant differences from the 2007 Regulations including the removal of the CDM Co-ordinator role and the introduction of a new duty holder, the Principal Designer.  The majority of the duties of the old CDM Co-ordinator have been transferred to the Client and Principal Designer. 

The new Regulations require the Client to appoint a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor for all projects were there is more than one contractor working on site and now include Domestic Client projects which were excluded for the 2007 Regulations.

Aims

This ½ day seminar will provide a general overview of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and will explain how they will affect your work and the changes you need to make to help you plan and manage your work in order to meet your legal responsibilities.

The seminar will look at the main changes between CDM 2007 and 2015 and will offer guidance on planning and designing for health & safety within construction projects.

Delegates will receive a comprehensive set of information which should allow them to revise and update their procedures in order to comply with the new Regulations.

This seminar will be of benefit to Clients, Designers, Principal Designers, Principal Contractors and sub-contractors.

Cancellation Terms

Cancellations made within 7 working days of the course/seminar start date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 5 working days are subject to a 100% cancellation fee. All cancellations must be notified to Construction Federation Services in writing. Email notifications are acceptable. A telephone message is not sufficient as a notice to cancel. Delegate substitutions are welcome. If delegates do not attend a course/seminar without giving a notice of cancellation within the appropriate timeframe, no refund will be given.
