BDO Northern Ireland Director, Angela Keery and Manager, Renee Dawson will take will give an update of the current tax position on employee benefits, expenses and remuneration reflecting recent legislation changes that could be key for your business.

Specific topics discussed will include;

  • 24-month rule & Travel expenses;
  • Salary sacrifice changes and payroll benefits;
  • Cross border workers- what to do if you send employees to work in ROI; and
  • Non Exec directors.

Angela Keery, Tax Director at BDO Northern Ireland

Angela is a Director within the tax department of BDO Northern Ireland. Angela is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax advisor with 25 years experience.

Since joining the firm Angela works with a wide variety of corporate tax clients, including Family owned businesses, Growing Businesses and Entrepreneurs and advises on all aspects of tax planning for businesses, shareholders/ stakeholders and their employees. Angela uses her knowledge in all of these areas to helping local Family Businesses plan for the future.

Angela also has gained experience and knowledge of the Technology, Media and Telecoms sector, advising on issues of particular relevant to that industry.

Renee Dawson, Manager at BDO Northern Ireland

Renee joined the Private Client tax team in 2015, having previously trained in a Big 4 accountancy practice followed by mid-tier and smaller practices.

Renee is a Chartered Tax Advisor and has experience in lecturing in tax to accountancy students.

Renee has considerable experience in dealing with personal tax clients and partnerships. She also advises on employment taxes including tax efficient remuneration strategies, employment tax enquiries, mobile employees and overseas tax issues and termination payments. Renee has detailed experience of the construction industry scheme.
