CEF Weekly Round Up

This week CEF was delighted to give evidence to the NI Assembly Committee for the Economy on market conditions, the housing pipeline crisis and to share our progress under Construction Futures NI towards removing barriers to recruitment into construction.

Chief Executive Mark Spence was pleased to join a private dinner hosted by Translink with guest Lord Peter Hendy, author of the Union Connectivity Review

Lord Hendy is Chair of Network Rail and a former Commissioner of Transport for London (TfL). The discussion focused on the importance of investment in infrastructure, the need for independent prioritisation of spending and the socio-economic benefits arising.

CEF Head of Public Affairs David Fry also joined the last meeting of the Planning Engagement Partnership, meeting with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council to discuss improving community engagement in the planning process. 

 
The start of May provides the opportunity to remind members of the closing date for entries to this year’s CEF Awards - Friday 31st May 2024. 

The Awards are the largest and most sought-after NI construction awards, providing a wonderful opportunity to showcase the best of the construction industry in Northern Ireland and to celebrate the industry’s achievements.

This week the popular training event covering Construction Adjudication delivered by CEF Patron Mills Selig was rearranged to a fresh date and will now take place 9.30 -1pm - Thursday 13th June.
