CEF Weekly Round Up

26 April 2024  Business Environment

This week CEF was delighted to welcome new commercial partner Payapps to host a breakfast seminar for members. The morning brought together finance and commercial professionals from general contractors, fit-out firms, MEP and other construction specialists and reviewed the latest results from the Payapps research survey which uncovered common challenges associated with the traditional method of managing applications for payments and payment claims.

The Payapps team demonstrated how quick and easy it is to introduce technology for a more efficient valuation and payment process, minimising project disputes and delays while improving supply chain collaboration and we look forward to welcoming them back again in the future.

As the landscape of R&D tax legislation shifts, CEF Patron FPM, a multi-award-winning accounting, tax & business advisory practice, also joined CEF members.  Over the course of an informative one-hour session Shane Martin, FPM's Tax Director and Head of R&D, outlined the latest regulatory updates and their implications for the industry.

Shane provided practical and actionable strategies to ensure members’ businesses remain compliant and optimised under the new regulations. If you missed it keep an eye on the CEF YouTube channel where a recording of this webinar will be made available.

We were also delighted to visit Spinners Gate by Vaughan Homes where MD Bryan Vaughan and site Manager Ricky Morrow showed us around this immaculate development on the site of a former mill in Newtownabbey.
