CEF are pleased to announce @DiabetesUKNI as our charity partner for the upcoming CEF President’s Annual Dinner!

Diabetes is a serious and complex condition that affects nearly 112,000 people living across the five healthcare Trusts in Northern Ireland. According to the most recent prevalence statistics released by the Department of Health, it is the third most prevalent health condition in the region.

Diabetes is the biggest and fastest-growing health crisis of our time. Here for people living with or at risk of diabetes, their families or carers, and healthcare teams, leading diabetes charity Diabetes UK offers a range of support, resources and advice. Diabetes UK campaigns for better services for all types of diabetes, fighting for the prevention of type 2 and strive towards tackling inequalities and stigma in diabetes. The charity also provides funding towards ground-breaking research to find better treatments and ultimately, a cure for diabetes.

Here in Northern Ireland, Diabetes UK has a team of 14 staff members who are dedicated to supporting people living with diabetes and the work of a charity on a local level. Learn more about the support offered in Northern Ireland here.

Naomi Breen, Diabetes UK Northern Ireland Fundraising Manager, said:

We’re delighted to have been selected as charity partner for the upcoming CEF President’s dinner. Support like this goes such a long way in helping us raise awareness of diabetes, a condition which unfortunately affects many people living in Northern Ireland.  We are grateful to CEF for helping us shine a light on this important issue and raise funds to strengthen the support we offer people living with diabetes on a local level. The dinner will be a spectacular evening and we’d like to extend our thanks to each and every attendee.”
