Free Legal Hotline
CEF offers members exclusive free legal advice with our legal Patrons, Mills Selig,
one of NI's leading legal teams, for up to an hour. If any additional
time is required, members engage directly with Mills Selig.
Insurance Package
Through Federation Patron ABL Group, members have access to an exclusive insurance facility providing leading insurance coverage at very competitive rates.
Employment Support
We provide members with a variety of assistance and information
regarding employment law issues including a standard set of employment
documents as well as conditions of employment that include wages and
holidays.
Tax Updates
Members receive regular updates on tax matters of specific relevance to the industry from our Patron PKF-FPM.
Environmental Support and Advice
We provide free professional advice to members on legal environmental
queries and provide regular updates to an Environmental Law Register.
We also maintain our own environmental management system – NVIR-O-CERT.
Tender Query Support
The Federation takes a pro-active role in promoting and persuading
clients to follow best practice in tendering for construction projects
and are often successful in changing onerous tendering conditions.
Health & Safety Support & Advice
Members can avail of a wealth of health and safety support and
advice. Services include a Site Safety Inspection Service, the
Construction Skills Register, Safe-T-Cert, Courses and Seminars and
regular Best Practice Guidance.
Courses and Seminars
We provide a wide range of highly useful and informative courses,
seminars and other events aimed at both managers and construction
professionals. Most of the courses count towards CPD points required by
professional bodies. CEF members are entitled to a 25% discount and many
courses are approved for CITB grants.
Information
We always ensure members are kept up to date with all developments in
the industry, tender information and the work that we undertake on
their behalf. We do this through our Weekly News Update, regularly
updated website, circulars, Committee and membership meetings.
Other Benefits
A Membership Certificate is issued annually and members can also add
the CEF logo to their website and stationery. Members also have the
opportunity to participate in the annual CEF Construction Excellence
Awards to showcase their own achievements. Through our bi-annual State
of Trade survey members are invited to provide anonymous company data
that, combined, gives the most accurate picture of the industry in
Northern Ireland. In addition, members can hire meeting room/s at the
Federation’s office on the Malone Road in Belfast.
